I am not really use to the internet, but I can get around...make sense? I grew up with magazines and bootleg tape sources and learned bands from friends. We would hand off tapes and then hand them off to some one eles. We share things on Facebook but the good stuff seems to get buried under the garbage. There are so many bands these days because of the internet, and i hear so many band names it is hard to keep up. Back then a lot of bands were past around so it was hand to hand contact. Seems weird to say it, but how many times have you had someone email you some music, and you either for get it was sent or just past it over? The 80's of course we found hair metal, and that led to thrash, i kinda stayed in this area for a long time, and it started to get old. Not that I did not like it so I decided to dive into Death metal I knew some bands but not all and still do not know all hahaha the genre blew me away. So many bands to learn. I caught death metal right before it had it's resurgence, but since then metal has branched by so many limbs, i am digging slam a lot, to learn about it has been easy yet hard. I will got to Spotify and search slam and find a great playlist. Issue being these days we turn on a stream and we shove said device in our pockets.. there is no dj to tell you the band name, so the songs play on like a ghost in the wind. You dug what you have heard and have no name. Wait, what is that. I can go back and see the playlist. You are correct, but be honest, here is an example. I go to work I turn on a playlist, I jam it the entire time at work, when I am jumping into my truck to head to next spot or home. The headphones come out the radio grabs stream and we are on our way.. point being is we use to talk bands and compare them and what we liked about them so on and so on. In my eyes to much passes through to fast, no Legends anymore, no iconic riffs you will remember in 20 years. Rock and roll never died, IT BECAME A FUCKING MONSTER! So this is about sharing a band and why you like them.
Well said Rock music will always become something new or even greater because it has the past to allways fall back on.
I edited it, reads better now hahaha
